Installation Notes
- Axle alignment should follow SAE or TMC recommended standards; use 1/2" drive breaker bar to rotate the adjuster plate into the direction of desired axle movement.
- Ensure the adjustment plate and alignment washer are properly seated and aligned; the adjustment plate must sit flat against the hanger.
- No welding of adjuster plates or alignment washers to the hanger sidewalls is required or recommended.
- Retorque fasteners after 6,000 miles.
- Torque pivot bolt using a 1" drive impact wrench and Torx socket (for the pivot bolt); install until the head shears off (do not reuse pivot hardware).
- Weld in accordance with Ridewell weld procedure No. 1.
- Bushing (Item 23) can be installed using bushing installation tool No. 6100044.
- Mounting center dimensions vary with frame width; reference chart B-B for the correct dimensions.
- This orientation requires service chamber only; verify frame clearance.
Maintenance Notes
- Daily/pre-trip: check tires for inflation/damage, wheel ends for lubricant leakage/missing components, axle assemblies for damage/loose components, and suspension structure for damage/excessive wear; check air controls and drain moisture from air reservoirs.
- First 6,000 miles: torque components to specifications and verify the suspension is operating at the designed ride height (do not re-torque shear-type pivot bolt).
- Every 12,000 miles: inspect air springs for damage/excessive wear, torque components to specifications, check air lines/connections for leaks, and lubricate brake cams and slack adjusters.
- First 50,000 miles: torque suspension components to specifications and check wheel ends for excessive play (do not re-torque shear-type pivot bolt).
- Annually/100,000 miles: inspect pivot connections for worn bushings and replace as necessary; torque pivot hardware and component bolts/nuts to specifications; check hanger and air spring mounting plate connections to vehicle frame; check wheel end lubrication level and check air system for leaks.
- Pivot bushing inspection procedure: insert the flat end of a pry-bar between the hanger sidewall and wear washers, move back-and-forth and look for excessive beam movement; inspect wear washers for excessive wear/damage; repeat on the other side and drop beams for further inspection if large/easy movement or damaged wear washers are observed.
Warranty Notes
- Warranty terms and coverage apply only to the United States and Canada.
- Ridewell warrants suspension systems to be free of defects in material and workmanship when properly installed, maintained, and operated within rated capacity and recommended application.
- Warranty responsibility is limited to repair/replacement of suspension parts; purchased components are limited to the original manufacturer warranty.
- All work under warranty requires prior written approval; parts may require an RMA and must be returned with transportation charges prepaid (reimbursed if approved).
- This warranty is non-transferable and is in lieu of other expressed or implied warranties; Ridewell disclaims liability for special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
